This video presents Mystique 2019, the Global Wearable Technology Fashion Show hosted in Melbourne, Australia, on the 6th of October 2019.
Mystique was coordinated by Dr. Gabriela Raducan, the Founder & Director of Tech4Future, a not-for-profit that aims to embed fashion and technology, and to promote them through education:
Many thanks to everyone who helped make this possible.
Tech4Future partnered for this event with La Trobe University, IEEE La Trobe Student Branch, ESOLU (Engineering Society of La Trobe University), IEEE Young Professionals Victorian Section and LIEF (La Trobe Innovation and Entrepreneurship Foundry).
Our volunteers assisted students from year 3 to 12 to create their own designs and showcase them on the runway. Special thanks to St James Primary School (Brighton), Viewbank College, Banyule-Nillumbik Tech School and Whittlesea Tech School.
The show marked 10 years of IEEE Day Celebrations, and it also promoted interdisciplinary global collaborations and encouraged females to join STEM fields. The participants’ work was displayed at a real Fashion Show, with a showcase of the designs on the runway in a beautiful setting at La Trobe University Union Hall, Melbourne.
A big thank you to our event sponsors (La Trobe University, La Trobe Student Union, Pakronics and Mr. Ross Heron) and to our Exhibitors (Telstra, Arduino, Ericsson, Deloitte, Reesby, Litmus Labs and Pakronics).
