On January 8th at 9:30AM, Karl Weaver sat on this Wearable tech Summit Panel Session to discuss Wearables and Fashion and also how technology can impact fashion in a negative way, especially when it’s not design to luxury in mind.
This Panel Session took place on January 8th, at the Venetian Hotel and the topic migrated to technology and how fashion people don’t which to plug in a Smart Watch to recharge it but actually they have no choice for stand-alone 4G LTE Connectivity Smart Watches with eSI and also NFC for subway transit ticketing.
eSIM & RSP Speaking Summary: Embedded SIM (eSIM) has long been desired by equipment manufacturers, in particular those focused on M2M and IoT. Benefits of programmable SIM are numerous – from the security/protection of the SIM to the remote provisioning. By 2017, eSIM will for sure revolutionize the mobile telecommunications industry: the fixed-connectivity service of traditional (removable) SIM cards will be eventually replaced by the dynamic connectivity features of embedded SIMs. Earlier this year GSMA released a specification that allows consumers to remotely activate the SIM embedded in a device such as a smart watch, fitness band or tablet. The process currently under way may lead to widespread industry adoption of eSIMs in the very near future. What challenges and opportunities does this eSIM disruption mean for the industry’s stakeholders? RSP – Remote SIM Provisioning will become the standard for IoT, M2M and Wearables utilization! Happy New Year of eSIM!
